#TBT Stories Weeks 3 &4 2014 Edition (A week and a day late…oops!)

Mom & Me

My mom is my hero. She has taught me what it means to be a kind, giving, selfless person. I am so thankful that God chose Kelly to be mine. She has always pushed me to be the best I can be. She knows when I am bluffing…I truly can not tell a lie to her. We have now transitioned in to such a cool point. Instead of just mother and daughter, I truly consider her my best friend. She loves me unconditionally and is always there for me no matter what. Thank you mom for being you.

1st Mother's Day

John Just Born

I pray that I can be that kind of mom to my boys. They are so lucky to have you as their Kiki. The only thing better than having you as a mother is knowing that my children have you as their grandmother. Happy Mother’s Day 2014. We love you to the moon and back!

LSSC 3: Week 1

Howdy there!

Today I am sharing my latest layout titled Big Brother. I am a part of a team on Sparkpeople called Scrapalicious. We have started a new round of the Last Scrapper Standing Challenge. This week the challenge was to use a specific sketch and include at least 6 elements from a list provided. Here is my result:

Big Brother Layout

The elements I chose to include were:

  1. The color combination of blue, green, and yellow. I also added brown.
  2. 2 solid papers and 1 patterned. I added another patterned.
  3. Circle diecut/punch
  4. journaling
  5. Title cut from paper. I cut the word BIG out using my cricut.
  6. Chipboard I used the chipboard words love, laughter, and smile to help me tell the story.

Cars & Legos

When Jase found out we were having a little boy his favorite thing to tell people was, “I will teach him to play cars and Legos!”

The journaling reads: John is so lucky to have such a great big brother. I can’t help but smile when I think about all the years I have to look forward to filled with lots of love and a ton of laughter.

Thank you for stopping by. If you like what you read share on your favorite social media 🙂

2012 in Review

Since tonight is the last night of 2012 I thought it would be fun to do a round up of pictures for the year. Enjoy!

Jase took special Valentine portraits with Uncle Shelby. We are so blessed to have such an amazing photographer in our family.

IMG_0507 IMG_0508 My mother and myself made a special Valentine dinner for our sweethearts, fried shrimp, twice baked potatoes, asian salad, and cookie cakes. Jason got one all to himself 😉

In February my dad turned 50 and we took him to the piano bar. I think we embarrassed him like good daughters should. Jase turned 3 and wanted a Cars birthday party so he had a blast too!

In March we had to celebrate St. Patty’s day like good Irish folk should. We decided to make it a family event and took Jase to Sesame Street live as a surprise. He absolutely loved it!

In April we had Easter and Jase couldn’t quit trying to eat the egg dye. It was hilarious! I think he looked rather sharp in his sweater vest ;)!

In May we celebrated Mother’s Day by my boys buying me furniture for my backyard oasis, and making me a homemade card. We took my mother and grandmother to brunch at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City. It was very nice and very yummy!

In June Jason and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary by going to the Texas Motor Speedway and driving real live NASCAR race cars. I have to say I did beat his speed by 5 miles an hour. He was at 147 and I made it to 153, so if you know my husband be sure to rib him a bit…

July was a fun month. I was the principal of summer school in town, and I got to have a great time with my best friend by taking a road trip to San Antonio to an amazing Spa! It was worth the sore bum to get a massage and wonderful room service once we got there!

August marked an important time in my career. I began my first year as an administrator. I love being an assistant principal! My hubby and son sent me these beautiful flowers to tell me good luck and they were thinking about me.

In September, the Nunn family was awarded the key to the city of Apache and Jase got to ride on the parade float. He also rode many a fair ride that night.

October was a busy month in our family. My mother turned 50 and we pulled off an amazing surprise party for her. Jase and I got to go on a small get away to see our favorite babysitter Megan in Iowa. She took us to the Mall of America in Minnesota and we had an amazing time surprising her and just getting to catch up. On October 28th I found out that we are expecting our little Pumpkin 🙂 and Jase got to be a real race car driver and drove McQueen door to door for candy on Halloween.

November was a great month of thankfulness. I love these boys so much and I am so blessed to have them in my life.

December was a crazy time. None of our plans went like we planned them. We had an actual white Christmas, and everyone was sick! We still managed to have a great time and we are so ready to bring in the new year. Come back soon for my new year’s resolutions.

Dallas Fort Worth Trip: Day 1 Chihuly Glass and Flowers Oh My!

Dallas Fort Worth Trip: Day 1 Chihuly Glass and Flowers Oh My!

I had an amazing time on our anniversary trip to Dallas & Fort Worth area. It was a great way to relax and get away from the busy happenings that life has thrown at us lately and just have a chance to focus on each other. A big thank you goes out to my daddy and his significant other for taking Jase and showing him an amazing time while his mommy and daddy were away.

And They’re Off!

I am excited to say that Jason and I will finally be going to Texas today! We get to go to the Texas Motor Speedway and he will get to drive a real race car! Happy Anniversary to him 🙂 I will be doing a ride along at 170 miles per hour. That’s right, I am a badass, but I’m not crazy enough to drive lol! I will be taking lots of pics on instagram and tweeting the whole time so to feel like you are with us be sure to follow me!

For now I will leave you with a pic of the memorabilia envelope I made for this trip. I had some cool license plate stickers left over from a different project that were perfect for this road trip. See you guys on Tuesday!

Dropping 20 Before Baby

Wordless Wednesday: Wayback Throwback

Wordless Wednesday: Wayback Throwback

This will be an almost wordless post. I figured you all deserved an explanation for all of the ancient older photos. Jason and I will have been married for 6 years on Sunday. We have been through a lot together and this is just a little photo fun to illustrate that.

Happy Father’s Day

This is a post that is dedicated to all of the wonderful fathers in my life.

To my dad, thank you for always being there when I need advice. Thank you for always loving me no matter how trying I can be. Thank you for loving my child and being the best grandpa I could have ever wished for for Jase.

Thank you for loving us with your whole heart. We love you to the moon and back.

To my husband, you have been the best partner in raising our little man. Thank you for showing him how to treat a lady. Thank you for helping him become the sweet little young man he is today.

To my step father David, thank you for taking us in and loving us as we were your own. Thank you for teaching Jase how to be a rootin’ tootin’ cowboy. Thank you for all of your help watching him so I could finish my degree and better myself. You will never know how much I appreciate what you have done.

To my papa John, thank you for being the best grandpa a girl could ask for. I still remember the many trips in your old red jeep through the little town of Rush Springs, and the many hours of fun we had at your furniture store. I am so happy that Jase gets to experience the joy that I did by spending time with you.

To my uncle JD, I am amazed at how well you have raised your two daughters. Thank you for always being there for us when we need you or when we need a laugh. I love you!

And last but not least, thank you to Uncle Shelby for being there with jase from the very beginning. You aren’t a father yet but I have no doubt in my mind that you will be amazing! You have made my little one so happy and I appreciate all you do for us.

Thank you to all the father figures out there. I love all the men in my life and appreciate what each of them have done for me and my son. Have a great day with your family, and hug your daddy extra tight today.
